Meridian Grand won Banqueting Suite of the Year at The London Wedding Awards 2026, the 2nd edition of the awards run by Oceanic Awards. Oceanic Awards announced the winners on 13 May 2026 at the Renaissance Hotel, London Heathrow. The purpose-built North London venue hosted 308 weddings last year.
The families who celebrate here come from traditions that differ in almost every detail: a Pakistani Walima, a Bengali reception after the Gaye Holud, a Jewish chuppah, a Nigerian Owambe. Each needs its own running order, menu, and room layout, and every booking has a dedicated Event Coordinator.

The London Wedding Awards 2026 recognise wedding businesses across London, from venues and caterers to décor specialists, photographers, and planners. Oceanic Awards runs the programme. The 2nd edition ended with a ceremony on 13 May 2026 at the Renaissance Hotel, London Heathrow, where the organisers announced the winner of each category.
Finalists come from public nominations made online and through social media, and from businesses the Oceanic Awards team puts forward directly. There is no fee to enter, and voting stays open until one week before the ceremony.
We reached the final in Banqueting Suite of the Year and won the category on the night.

How many guests can the venue seat?
The Grand Ballroom seats up to 700 guests and the Meridian Ballroom up to 400, both pillar-free. Opened together as the Meridian Grand Ballroom, they seat up to 800 in a single room. Two upstairs suites take smaller events: the Eternity Suite seats up to 100 and the Infinity Suite up to 70.

What does the venue provide for a large cultural wedding?
The venue is purpose-built for weddings. Both ballrooms carry integrated production lighting and rigging points, the kitchen is halal as standard, and there is no sound limiter. Events can run until 3am at the latest, and the venue holds a licence for civil ceremonies on site, so the legal marriage can happen in the same building.

Who plans and runs a wedding at the venue?
Every booking has a dedicated Event Coordinator, who works with the family from the first planning meeting through to the day itself. Most weddings here are single-day events. Families can take the in-house catering, or book the venue on a dry-hire basis and bring an external caterer.
Décor is by Midnight Garden, the venue’s in-house décor studio, which designs stages, Mandaps, chuppahs, florals, and table styling. The in-house kitchen cooks South Asian, Middle Eastern, African, Caribbean, and European menus, with tastings by appointment.
